Houston's Farm is a grower processer and distributor of baby leaf salads.
One of the few vertically integrated salad growers in Australia, the business has a range of salad mixes in the Houston's Farm brand, and contract pack for Coles and Woolworths under their Private Label program.
Houston's Farm is a family owned Tasmanian business who has grown Salad leaves in the Coal River Valley for over 20 years. The business is known for its focus on quality and innovation. They grow a range of seasonal salads using such leaves as sorrel and cress, as well as a range of salad mixes grown outdoors year round.
Houston's Farm were the first to market in Australia with the innovation of true baby butter leaf lettuce developed by the Dutch seed breeding company Rijk Zwaan. Houston's are also used as a trialing station for the company in Holland to collect data for seed breeding purposes.
Houston's won the inaugural Fresh Food Bursary from Woolworths to develop an industry standard for measuring Carbon Footprints. This has been accepted by HAL (Horticulture Australia) to become a recognised industry measurement.
